1). How would you describe EAG?

EAG: Where creative minds tackle tough client challenges with expertise and enjoyment.

2). What has been one of your proudest moments working at EAG?

This year I helped revamp an ETL process for a client post-merger—we reiterated the process countless times until it ran seamlessly. Nothing beats a smooth ETL process in production!

3). What advice do you have for prospective candidates that want to join EAG?

Showcase your diverse skills that can contribute to EAG’s varied projects. Your versatility is an asset to EAG’s business.

4). What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?

Consistent sleep is paramount for overall health. Going to bed at the same time and getting a solid 8 hours can significantly boost your longevity.

5). What do you like to do in your free time? Any favorite places you like to visit?

In my free time I like to run, play golf, and spend time with my daughter. The trails in Eleanor Tinsley Park are a great place for an afternoon run.

6). Tell us something that might surprise us about you.

As a Data Architect and CPA, people might assume I’m an introvert, but I actually love public speaking. Currently, I hold the title of Toastmasters International Speech Champion for the Houston area.

7). How do you balance your career with other priorities?

I have a rule that while my daughter is at home and awake, I don’t work. It keeps me present as a father and helps me turn off work for more important activities. Remember, work will be waiting for you in the morning.

8). Who or what inspires you and why?

I am inspired by folks who get out and learn something new. Returning to being a novice is difficult, but watching people do it inspires me to continue reinventing myself.

9). What is your life motto or favorite quote?

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

-T.E. Lawrence

10). What’s your superpower?

I can find a needle in a haystack. I can reconcile a 1m record dataset and find the 1 line causing the issue.
