EAG Spotlight: Edgar Hernandez
Meet Edgar Hernandez, Consultant at EAG. Edgar has over a year of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry as well as the safety services industry. Throughout his career, he has helped optimize multiple processes within production accounting using automation. In addition to process improvement initiatives, Edgar also worked on key regulatory reports for the state of Texas and Oklahoma.

1.How would you describe EAG?
EAG is a company of highly experienced professionals who understand the complexities of the oil and gas industry. The team leverages that experience to provide optimal solutions and services to clients.
2. What’s been one of your proudest moments working at EAG?
One of my proudest moments at EAG is when I simplified an integration for a client through VBA! This reduced what would have been a complex solution to a set of excel macros that the client could use to run their weekly process.
3. What advice do you have for prospective candidates that want to join EAG?
EAG handles a myriad of challenging business problems for clients. Being willing to learn and apply your problem-solving skills in new areas goes a long way!
4. What’s one thing – either industry-related or not – you learned in the last month?
A cool piece of industry knowledge that I learned last month is how mineral rights may impact operations planning and development. Specifically, what the legal ramifications are if oil and gas is produced from land that the producer does not have a valid lease associated to.
5. What do you like to do in your free time? Any favorite places you like to visit?
Keeping physically active is perhaps my favorite thing to do during my free time! Additionally, visiting my alma-mater of Texas A&M and reconvening with friends is always great as well!
6. Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I occasionally do math or physics problems to keep my problem-solving skills sharp! I thoroughly enjoy the subjects and attribute part of my skillset to practicing them.
7. How do you balance your career with other priorities?
Effective planning and time management have been crucial in being able to balance my career and other life priorities. Strategically planning work and non-work activities ahead of time has helped me maintain a healthy work-life balance.
8. Who or what inspires you and why?
I am inspired by the opportunity to help clients, and my team achieve their goals. Seeing the positive impact of our work and contributing to their success drives me to give it my best!
9. What is your life motto or favorite quote?
A quote that always inspires me is ‘Pressure makes diamonds’. It reminds me that challenges and difficulties lead to growth and excellence. It is a great motivator to embrace tough situations as opportunities for personal and professional development!
10. What’s your superpower?
My superpower is being able to be resourceful. I take great joy in finding creative solutions and making the most out of any situation to get things done efficiently.
